Rental rules

Please read the rental policy carefully. By confirming your bike or car reservation, you automatically agree to the following Balico policies.

Bikes city cars

Booking and Reservation Terms

1.1 The minimum rental period for scooters and city cars is 7 days. We can provide transportation for a shorter period, but the rental cost will still be calculated as for 7 days. The rental period must be agreed in advance and stated in the rental agreement. If you wish to extend your rental, please contact us at least 48 hours before the end of your current rental to check availability and cost.

1.2 To book a scooter, you must provide a photo/scan of your passport, driver’s license, delivery address and time, and the number and sizes of helmets needed. This information should be submitted at least 48 hours before the rental start to ensure timely delivery.

1.3 To guarantee your reservation, a deposit is required: 800.000 IDR for a scooter, 1.500.000 IDR for a car, 3.000.000 IDR for models New HRV, Zenix, Fortuner, Pajero. Please ask our manager for payment details. This prepayment will be deducted from the rental cost — no extra charges or security deposits are required. If the reservation is canceled by the client, the deposit is non-refundable.

1.4 Free delivery is available from 10:00 to 17:00 for scooters and from 09:00 to 18:00 for cars within a 25 km radius of our office in Seminyak. Free delivery zones include: Canggu, Umalas, Kuta, Seminyak, Sanur, Jimbaran, Nusa Dua, Bukit, and the southern part of Ubud. Delivery to more remote areas is possible for an additional fee, which must be agreed in advance.

1.5 If you are unable to return the vehicle in person, please notify our manager in advance to arrange the return procedure.

1.6 Full payment must be made upon receiving the scooter or car.

1.7 If you contact us while already in Bali or don’t manage to book in advance, we will do our best to arrange delivery quickly, depending on availability, or offer you an alternative.

1.8 In case of early termination of the rental by the client, we refund 50% of the remaining rental period. Refunds are not available if the rental is for the minimum period (up to 7 days) or if more than 12 days have passed since the start of a fixed-rate rental.

1.9 The rental agreement is signed upon delivery and after full payment, in accordance with our company policy.

Insurance and customer liability

2.1 Balico offers two types of motorcycle insurance: "no insurance" and "full insurance". Full insurance covers scratches, accident/fall damage, and theft of the vehicle, with zero deductible and no deposit required. The selected insurance type will be stated in the rental agreement.

2.2 All city cars come with standard insurance included, with a deductible (maximum liability) at no additional cost. If you book in advance, no deposit or franchise fee is required. Upon receiving the car in Bali, you only pay the rental fee and any additional services (e.g., child seat).
In case of an accident, the renter is responsible for the deductible amount, which depends on the car model and is specified in the rental contract:

  • for cars Agya, Brio, Raize, Xenia, Terios — 8.000.000 IDR
  • for cars Avanza, Xpander, HRV old, BRV — 11.500.000 IDR
  • for cars Honda HRV new, Innova Reborn — 16.500.000 IDR
  • for cars Innova Zenix, Fortuner, Pajero — 30.000.000 IDR

2.3 Any damage up to the deductible amount must be covered by the renter. Any cost beyond that is covered by Balico’s insurance.

2.4 In case if you rent a city car with full insurance and zero deductible even minor scratches or damage will be fully covered by the insurance.

2.5 Insurance does not cover the following cases:
– Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
– Using the vehicle off public roads (e.g., beaches, mountains, fields, jungles, etc.)
– Tire damage caused by punctures or cuts due to the renter’s fault (renter must repair or inflate the tire). If a tire needs replacement due to wear and tear (e.g., no tread or markings), that’s Balico’s responsibility.
– Battery recharge or replacement due to full discharge caused by the renter (e.g., leaving lights on)
– Intentional damage to the vehicle

2.6 In case of an incident involving damage to the rented vehicle, the renter must notify Balico within 24 hours and provide all required information. Failure to do so results in full liability for the damages.

2.7 The renter is prohibited from performing repairs or servicing the vehicle (including through official dealers) without Balico’s approval. Any unauthorized repair costs will not be reimbursed, and a 1.500.000 IDR penalty + cost of the damage may apply.

2.8 The renter is fully responsible for any damage caused to third parties as a result of an incident.

2.9 The renter is fully responsible for the vehicle and any consequences resulting from giving it to a third party not listed in the rental agreement.

2.10 The renter is fully responsible for any damage that occurs while driving off public roads (e.g., beaches, mountains, fields, jungles, etc.).

2.11 If a helmet is lost or significantly damaged, the renter must cover the cost of purchasing a new one of similar quality.

2.12 If the key is lost, the renter must cover the cost of replacement.

2.13 If the vehicle is delivered with the original registration document and it is lost, a 1.500.000 IDR fee will apply.

2.14 If the renter violates the terms of this agreement, Balico reserves the right to immediately repossess the vehicle without refund.

2.15 Balico is not liable for any damage, loss, injury, or death caused to or by the renter, including to other road users or passengers involved in accidents. Balico is not responsible for any failure to meet obligations due to circumstances beyond its control, such as government actions, fire, flood, epidemic, war, riots, or terrorism. Balico is also not responsible for any illegal actions or violations of Indonesian law by the renter.

Other conditions

3.1 Under Indonesian law, all drivers must carry a valid driver’s license with the appropriate category for the vehicle. The driver must be over 18 years old.

3.2 The fuel level at the time of return must be the same or higher than at the time of delivery. Otherwise, the difference will be charged.

3.3 A change of renter with retention of the existing rental period is possible for an additional fee of 300.000 IDR.

3.4 All rental vehicles are provided with unlimited mileage.

3.5 It is strictly prohibited to take rental vehicles outside the island of Bali.

3.6 Balico’s office in Bali operates daily from 09:00 to 18:00 local time (UTC/GMT +8). We are open every day, including holidays and weekends.

Premium cars

Booking conditions

1.1 All drivers must hold a valid driver’s license. The driver must be over 21 years old.

1.2 The minimum rental period for exclusive cars is 1 day.

1.3 If the vehicle is returned later than the agreed time, each additional hour will be charged at 10% of the daily rental rate.

1.4 It is strictly prohibited to take rental vehicles outside the island of Bali.

1.5 Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited.

1.6 To book a vehicle, you must provide a photo or scan of your passport, driver’s license, delivery address, and preferred delivery time.

1.7 To secure your booking, a prepayment of 50% of the rental cost is required, except for same-day bookings. In case of cancellation by the client before the rental starts, the deposit is non-refundable.

1.8 Free delivery is available for rentals of 3 days or more, between 09:00 and 18:00 (Bali time), to the following areas: Canggu, Umalas, Kuta, Seminyak, Sanur, Jimbaran, Nusa Dua. Delivery to more remote areas is available at an additional charge and must be arranged in advance with a manager.

1.9 Full payment must be made upon delivery of the vehicle.

1.10 If you are already in Bali or did not have time to book in advance, we will do our best to deliver the selected vehicle promptly based on availability or offer an alternative.

1.11 No refunds are given for early termination of the rental period initiated by the client.

1.12 The rental agreement is signed after full payment has been made, directly upon delivery in Bali, in accordance with our company policy.

Insurance and customer liability

2.1 All premium cars are rented without insurance. The renter is fully responsible for any damage caused to the vehicle. A refundable security deposit is required at the time of rental. The amount depends on the specific car model — please check with our manager.

2.2 Any damage is the renter's full responsibility and must be paid in full, plus 50% of the rental price for the duration needed for repairs. If the car is lost or damaged by more than 50%, the renter must pay 100% of the vehicle’s market value within 2 working days. In this case, the rented vehicle becomes the renter’s property.

2.3 In the event of an incident involving the rented vehicle, the customer must notify Balico within 24 hours and provide all relevant information.

2.4 It is strictly forbidden to carry out any repairs on the rented vehicle (including at authorized dealers) without prior approval from Balico.

2.5 The renter is fully responsible for any damage or injury caused to third parties as a result of an incident involving the rented vehicle.

2.6 The renter is fully responsible for the vehicle and any consequences if it is given to a third party not listed in the rental agreement.

2.7 The renter is fully responsible for any damage caused to the vehicle when driving off-road (e.g., on beaches, in the mountains, fields, jungles, etc.).

2.8 In the event of key loss, the renter must cover the full cost of replacement.

2.9 If the original vehicle registration document was provided and is lost, the renter must pay the full cost of replacing the document.

2.10 If the renter violates the terms of this agreement, Balico reserves the right to immediately repossess the vehicle without any refund.

2.11 Balico is not liable for any damage, losses, injuries, or death caused to or by the renter, passengers, or other road users. Balico is not responsible for failure to fulfill obligations due to events beyond our control, including but not limited to government actions, fire, flood, epidemics, war, riots, or terrorism. Balico is also not liable for any illegal actions or violations of Indonesian law committed by the renter.

Other conditions

3.1 All vehicles must be refueled with Pertamax Turbo gasoline only.

3.2 The fuel level upon return must match the level at the time of delivery. If the level is lower, the renter must pay the difference.

3.3 All rental vehicles from our company come with unlimited mileage.
