Are you planning to rent a bike or a car in Bali? Want to know what kind of driver’s license you need?
Officially, in Indonesia you can ride a scooter with an International Driving Permit (IDP) of category A (motorcycle) or local category C (motorcycle).
For cars, you need an international category B (car) or local category A (car) license.
If you already have a national driver’s license of the required category but not an international one, you can easily get an IDP in your home country — it’s usually quick and inexpensive.
If you don’t have an international license or the right category, contact us — we’ll explain how you can get a valid driving license while staying in Bali and what documents you’ll need for that.
